Abstract

It is the purpose of this paper to present the results of some investigation of turbulent flow in straight circular tubes, conducted at the suggestion of Dr. Th. Von Karman, and to give a detailed description of the method of using the hot-wire anemometer to measure fluctuations of the air velocity in a direction parallel to the mean flow.
